Women Can Lose Weight By Drinking Wine

We all know that wine, particularly red wine, can bring some health benefits; however, recent studies have shown that moderate alcohol consumption in women can help in weight loss.

Women who drink red wine once in a while can achieve positive health benefits not only for the heart but also for the waistline. The study had 2,000 middle aged and older women as the subjects. In the study, women who are drinking alcohol in moderation have less chances of becoming obese than those who are not drinking red wine. This result was true despite several factors including lifestyle and some dietary factors that can influence the weight of the woman. Red wine have provided positive weight loss benefits but beer, spirits, and white wine also have some benefits.

Actually, there are older studies that haveĀ  investigated the weight loss benefits of wine and other alcohol beverages. Moderate drinking of wine which is defined as drinking of wine once per day may be considered as a healthy habit since it can help the heart as well the weight; however, if it is already heavy and uncontrolled drinking, it is already harmful and should be stopped.

Based from the study, there are several reasons why alcohol can help women in staying fit and losing weight. Studies show that women who are drinking alcohol in moderation are generally more active and consume less carbohydrates; however it is still not enough to conclude that alcohol alone can promote weight loss and maintain a physically fit body.
