During exercise, proper breathing is important. Good breathing patterns will ensure that your muscles are continuously receiving the oxygen needed when contracting.

When you inhale, the air is pulled to the alveoli in the lungs. The alveoli are microscopic air sacs. Oxygen is delivered to the red blood cells while carbon dioxide is transferred from the blood to the alveoli. The blood rich in oxygen flows to the heart then pumps out to the body. The carbon dioxide is exhaled.

With proper breathing, it will enhance your exercise experience because of the increased availability of oxygen to the organs and the muscles. Apparently, when you exercise, your need for oxygen increases; hence, it is essential to do proper breathing while exercising.
