When Honey is More Than Just a Sweetener
Generally, honey’s sweet taste made it a popular ingredient in most countries. However, aside from being an ingredient in various cuisines, honey is also an ingredient to weight loss.
You might be wondering how that is possible because honey is sweet and sweet can make you fat. Apparently, honey does contain sugar, causing its sweet taste but unlike refined sugar, honey also contains vitamins and minerals. In the normal process of digesting sugar, the body uses the stored vitamins and minerals causing lack of storage of these vitamins and minerals in the body. These nutrients are needed by the body to dissolve the fats and cholesterol. Therefore, when you eat a lot of sugar, you are causing depletion of nutrients and increased weight due to too much calories and undissolved fats and cholesterol.
With honey, you will be able to increase the nutrient stores and promote burning and mobilizing of stored fats to convert it to energy. You will notice gradual weight loss especially if you drink a tablespoon of honey with warm water regularly.
Honey does not only mobilize stored fats but it can also promote a better digestion. Usually, obese individuals have slower metabolism but with regular intake of honey, you can improve your metabolism and gradually lose weight.
Experts believed that there are a lot of other benefits of honey aside from weight loss; but if you would like to give honey a try, you can take it with warm water or lemon. Don’t forget to be watchful of what you eat and increase your physical activity if you are serious about losing weight.
