What You Eat After Exercise Will Matter
Actually, the positive health benefits of exercise would be due to the most recent session of exercise and not on the weeks, years, or months of exercise training. Aside from that, these benefits can also be affected with the foods that you eat after the exercise.
Apparently, the differences in the food that you eat shall provide different effects of metabolism. This finding was based on the previous studies about the health benefits of exercise. The researchers have concluded that the health benefits of exercise are tapering off within a few hours or after a few days.
The scientists claim that the metabolic effects of exercise are from the latest session of exercise, so the food that you eat after you have exercised would matter. Aside from that, they have also found out that exercise can enhance insulin sensitivity especially if the meals eaten after the exercise have low carbohydrates. An enhanced insulin sensitivity would mean that the body can easily take up sugar from the blood stream and use it as energy by the tissues and the muscles. However, the researchers have also found out that in order to reap more important health benefits, you need not to starve yourself after exercising.
The study still has its own limitations and there could still be a lot of things to be studied before concluding these effects in obese individuals.
