What is the Hype All About in the New Atkin’s Diet?
Anybody who is thinking of a way on how to lose weight would definitely want to lose weight of up to 15 pounds per week. A new Atkin’s book, which is an upgrade of the previous Atkin’s diet is promoting a new weight loss program which is the optimal protein diet. This is quite appealing to those who love to eat meat. The newly revised diet book seems to be a big hit and a best seller; however, the main question is, would it really be helpful to pump your body with a lot of protein while cutting your carbohydrate consumption in order to lose weight?
Keep in mind that losing weight too fast is very harmful. The body needs to adjust and should be gradually losing weight rather than immediately losing weight. Apparently, there are a lot of studies that have proven that a low carbohydrate diet is not causing that much weight loss compared to the low fat diet. Aside from that, people would also find low fat diet to be easier to sustain as compared to the low carbohydrate diet.
The protein diet on the other hand, may be a good option because protein can promote satiety faster than the carbohydrates. Aside from that, protein can also promote building of muscles and controlling the blood pressure. However, it is not advised for people who have medical conditions that require a low protein diet. Even if the optimal protein diet and the low carbohydrate diet of the New Atkin’s Diet may sound really promising, it is not the best way to become thin or skinny. Despite those promises of making you lose weight immediately, gradual weight loss is still ideal.
