What are the Advantages of Water Exercise?
In general, water exercises are low impact exercises done in any pool or spa. These water exercises do not only help in working out the muscles but also in relieving joint pains brought about by arthritis as well as back pain.
Anybody can benefit from water exercise regardless of the age, gender, or fitness level. Aside from that, pregnant women and those who are overweight can also benefit from water exercise.
To give you an overview, here are some of the advantages of water exercise:
Increase in muscle tone. Each time you are performing water exercise, you are also toning your muscles. Increase in muscle tone will also help in eliminating excess fat and can provide you with a better physique.
Increase joint mobility. Water exercise helps in relieving joint pains but aside from that, it also helps in increasing joint mobility. People who do not work out or living a sedentary lifestyle are prone to muscle atrophy and joint immobility. Thus, in order to prevent these complications, it is necessary to be physically active.
Weight loss. Just like other regular exercises, water exercises help in weight loss. However, aside from that, it allows the muscles to relax and less strain is applied on them.
Maintain a healthy heart. Aside from weight loss, water exercise also helps in keeping your blood pressure levels at normal range, as well as your blood sugar levels. With all these parameters at normal range, your heart’s normal functioning is maintained. Heart muscles are also strengthened through water exercise.
