Vaccine for Appetite Suppression – Does It Exist?

Those who are overweight and obese may be able to lose weight one day when a vaccine for appetite suppression is already available. This is due to the results obtained from an experiment in mice.

This vaccine is actually a hormone-blocking agent. It blocks ghrelin, which is a hormone that stimulates the appetite.

The vaccine is still under experiment and mice were the first ones to receive the shot. Based on the study, the mice that were given shots ate less and were able to burn more fats compared to the group that didn’t receive the vaccine. If this vaccine will be developed for humans, it will definitely be able to provide an effective and safer way to lose weight.

So far, the vaccine appears safe for mice and the effects may even last for years. However, although a vaccine may seem to be an effective solution to ourĀ  problem with obesity, the problem of weight gain and appetite regulation are still too complex for a single vaccine to solve.

A vaccine for appetite suppression may be a good idea for obesity but it is still not ready to be used for humans. There are still many factors to consider, especially the different processes that are involved in weight gain and appetite control.
