Top 5 Eating Mistakes

Eating experts or nutritionists and health care providers suggest that people often commit eating mistakes which is why they turned out to become fat or overweight. In order to eat healthy, here are the top five eating mistakes that you need to avoid.

1. People are not able to determine the difference between good fats and bad fats

Despite the information being spread by the health care team, people still don’t know that there are good fats and bad fats. We should avoid eating foods with saturated fats and trans fats but those with monounsaturated fats should be consumed more as well as polyunsaturated fats. The good sources of monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats would include fish, canola oil, avocados, nuts, and soybean.

2. People tend to supersize thinking it could save them money

Due to the popularity of supersizing a meal and getting bigger portions for a much lower price, people would supersize their meal in an attempt to save money; however, this is not a good dealĀ  when it comes to health because it contains too much calories. Rather than using your purse to judge your serving size.

3. People believed that liquid doesn’t contain calories

A lot of people do not realize that drinking soda will also deliver huge amounts of calories. Apparently, these soda drinks contain a lot of calories that will make you unhealthy.

4. People are not able to determine true hunger

Since a lot of individuals are not able to determine if they are truly hungry, they tend to overeat. Those who are not able to determine if they are hungry are also not able to determine whether they are already full, so they tend to continue eating uncontrollably.

5. People tend to have the “microwave addiction”

Since microwave is convenient, those who are too busy to prepare their own food would just purchase frozen foods and heat it in the microwave. These foods are processed and lacks fiber and vitamins that the body needs in order to stay healthy.
