Sugar: Learn the Truth About It

Nowadays, people are blaming sugar for a lot of things. However, they do not realize the importance of sugar especially in our body.

The sugar in our body, which is called glucose, is the fundamental fuel for the body and the brain. Hence, it is important to have sugars in our body since it serves the fuel for our body and mind to function normally. However, people would claim that eating sugar will only lead to diabetes which is a progressive disease that will eventually affect the organs of the body. The truth is, sugar will not immediately cause diabetes but TOO MUCH sugar does.

Diabetes means the body is not able to utilize all the sugars in your body and is also unable to eliminate it. When glucose lodges in the blood and stays there, it can destroy the cells, which results to the complications of diabetes. The negative effect of eating too much sugar is inability of the body to eliminate it, which results to diabetes. In order to prevent this from happening, you need to shed off some pounds especially if you are overweight and limit your sugar intake.

Another speculation about sugar is that it can increase the lipids or fats in your blood. There are some studies that were conducted decades ago about fructose, which is a sugar found in fruits and commonly used in processed foods can increase the levels of lipids in the blood. Then again, this is mainly due to being overweight and eating faster than our body can metabolize. The solution for this is to maintain a healthy weight and eat moderately. Stop taking sweet beverages, starchy foods, and beer because this will only contribute to the increase of fat levels in your blood.

The key to prevent all of these things from happening is moderation. You need to make some efforts to lose weight if you are overweight and you need to maintain that healthy weight. Your sugar intake should be moderated and do not eat excessively even though foods that are rich in sugar are undeniably tasteful.
