If you want to lose weight, the best solution is to decrease your caloric consumption. You can do this by suppressing your appetite. It might seem impossible at first because your stomach and your brain will have to adjust to the changes first. This is because once the body detects that you are hungry, hunger hormones will be released which will make you feel hungrier.

In order to avoid giving in to these hunger hormones, here are some tips that you can do to suppress your appetite:

Start your day with a good amount of protein

The main reason why protein is often advised by the nutritionists as the suitable food for breakfast is because protein can make you feel fuller. Protein may take time to digest and absorb compared to others.

Hit the gym more often

When you hit the gym more often, you will not only burn more calories but you will also be able to consume less. According to a study, aerobic exercises can help in lowering the ghrelin levels, or also known as hunger hormones. Aside from that, it can also help in increasing the levels of the appetite suppressing hormones.

Eat foods that contain good fats

Good fats or essential fatty acids is also good for the health. You can eat foods that contain essential fatty acids such as Oleic acid. These foods would be nuts, olive oil, and avocado. These foods can greatly help in suppressing your appetite based on a recently conducted study.

Trying chewing gums

Chewing gum can help you to consume less calories than usual. This has been found out by a recent research. The main reason is unknown but researchers have theorize that chewing gum can stimulate the nerves in the jaw. These nerves are connected to the satiety centers in the brain.
