Sleep Deprivation can result to Consumption of More Fatty Foods for Teenagers

A new study suggests that teenagers who are sleep deprived or those who don’t sleep at least eight hours per night can consume more fatty foods compared to those who get at least eight hours or more per night.

The findings in this new study might mean provide an explanation to the link between obesity and sleep deprivation in teenagers. According to the study, teenagers may consume more calories from fatty foods and less calories from carbohydrates when they sleep less than eight hours. The results also show that sleep is very important for this particular age group.

Apparently, researchers would like to stress that teenagers should be getting enough sleep because it is very important for that stage of growth. Adequate sleep will allow teenagers to grow healthy and prevent becoming obese.
