Running – An Ideal Cardio Exercise to Lose Weight and Preventing Joint Injuries
Apparently, the increasing rate of obesity all over the world is quite alarming. Each year, more people are getting overweight, despite the efforts of the health sector in promoting weight loss and healthy lifestyle.
If you don’t want to become a part of statistics, then you should do some measures to prevent becoming obese. Embracing a healthy lifestyle is easier said than done. Although a lot of people would claim that they want to live a healthier lifestyle, they still fail to stick to their claims.
Aside from having a healthy diet, it is also ideal to engage in various exercises to help you burn fats. One of the most popular cardio exercises would be running. Running will not only let you burn calories and stored fats, but it will also help in strengthening your muscles as well as preventing joint problems or injuries.
Before, there were claims that running can cause the wear and tear of joints and cartilages; however, recent studies have shown that these claims are not true.
A major reason why joint problems occur is because of being overweight. The excess pounds caused by stored fats weakens the joints on the lower portion of the body. Through running, joint problems such as osteoarthritis can be prevented because running will burn the stored fats that is responsible for adding up extra weight.
If you want to lose weight in order to prevent joint injuries, then you should consider running regularly.
