At some point, the condiments are blamed for causing increased blood pressure, kidney problems, and many other health related issues. Apparently, these condiments are usually high in sodium content so that it can add more flavor to the food. However, before you start setting aside all of these condiments, there are actually some that are good for the health.

According to a new research, the spread, spices, and herbs have their hidden health benefits. These don’t only add up to the flavor of the food that you are eating but it can also help in easing your digestion, curbing your appetite, and improving your memory. You are probably wondering what these condiments are, here are some examples:

Rosemary

Rosemary helps in eliminating the carcinogens found in foods. With the help of rosemary, it can help in minimizing the carcinogens formed when cooking the foods. When you add rosemary to the foods that you are cooking, you can minimize the carcinogens formed in the food. The carcinogens are harmful to the health because it can cause cancer.

Ketchup

If you are fond of eating burgers, adding up some ketchup to your burger won’t harm. Ketchup can help in lowering the risk for cardiovascular diseases. Tomato ketchup is rich in lycopene, which is a powerful antioxidant. This antioxidant can help in preventing atherosclerosis, which is the medical term for hardened arteries. Aside from that, ketchup is also rich in Vitamin A, C, and E which are helpful in keeping you healthy.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a rich source of oleic acid, which is a brain building nutrient. This is an essential fatty acid that is converted to a hormone which keeps the brain healthy. It can also optimize brain function; hence, it can help in boosting your memory.

Cinnamon

Who wouldn’t love the aroma and flavor of cinnamon? Aside from being flavorful, cinnamon can also help in stabilizing your blood sugar levels. The spice in the cinnamon can help in increasing insulin sensitivity which results to stability of blood sugar levels.

Hot Sauce

Pizza will be much delicious with drops of hot sauce. Hot sauce can curb the appetite by decreasing the production of ghrelin, which is an appetite stimulating hormone while also increasing the production of an appetite suppressing hormone. This was recently found out in a study published in a European journal.
