NEWS:Obesity is Associated with Serious Degeneration of the Brain

Based from a new study, obesity is correlated to serious degeneration of the brain. The study has found out that obese people actually have fewer brain tissues than people who have a normal weight. The difference is approximately eight percent lower. This is really alarming especially now that the incidence of neurological diseases associated with tissue degeneration is increasing.

Actually, the characteristics of the brain in terms of structure of these obese people were described as sixteen years older than those who have a normal weight of the same age.

Aside from obese people, the researchers have also examined the brain tissues of people who are classified as overweight. The researchers have found out that the brain tissues of people who are overweight are four percent fewer than normal and their brain is described to eight years prematurely aged as compared to an individual who has the same age but with a normal weight.

Because of these findings, researchers came with a conclusion that the reason why the rate of neurological diseases mainly caused by brain tissue degeneration is getting higher every year is due to the fact that having a lot of fat stores in the body or being obese is associated with brain tissue degeneration, as it is also quite apparent that the rate of obesity doubles every year.

Cognitive functioning is affected due to the fact that there is a significant decrease in the brain tissues. Thus, it is important to lose weight if you don’t want your brain tissues to disappear.
