Is Yo-Yo Dieting Okay?
Before, health experts are claiming that yo-yo dieting will not do good to your health. However, a new study suggests that losing weight and gaining it back again or yo-yo dieting isn’t as bad as people thought it was before.
According to the study, losing weight and gaining it back gain is better than not experiencing weight loss at all. The study was conducted on mice and those who remained fat the entire time and did not undergo any weight loss diets had shorter lifespan compared to others.
Scientists suggest that people should never stop trying to lose weight especially if they frequently gain weight. Yo-yo dieting in fact doesn’t hurt and would provide benefits especially for obese individuals, according to an obesity expert in New York City.
Generally speaking, the fat cells are producing hormones that can cause harm to the body. These hormones increase inflammation as well as the blood sugar levels. Losing fat cells, even for a short period of time can reduce the production of such hormones. Therefore, yo-yo dieting may be a good idea rather than not dieting at all.
