Is it Good to do Fasting once a week to achieve Weight Loss?
Nowadays, there a lot of ways being done by people who would like to lose weight. This is because of the increasing rate of people who are becoming obese nowadays. There are some people who have tried weight loss through crash diets, but this is not advised because it causes problems in the metabolism.
Another method being done by people who would like to achieve weight loss is fasting once a week. They believe that through fasting every week, they’d be able to slack off some pounds and decrease their weight.
However, fasting is not a good method to achieve weight loss because when you are fasting, you are just promoting muscle wasting. Once the body does not have any source of nutrients for energy, it will begin to eat up the muscles as it contains proteins. This means that when you are fasting, your muscles are the ones greatly affected and not the fat stores in your body.
To lose those fat stores, you need to burn them. You can burn them through exercise and physical activities. If you really want to lose fat, it is essential that you exercise and keep your body moving and not just by fasting.
Therefore, to answer the question, fasting is not a good idea to achieve weight loss. If you really want to lose weight, go for other methods that are healthy and good for the body.
