How to Have a Healthy Holiday Eating
Everybody loves the holiday season because it is a season of festivity and gatherings among your family and friends. Since it is a season of festivity, expect that there will be a lot of food treats that are tempting and will definitely ruin one’s diet.
According to a dietitian, people gain weight during the holiday season because of increased consumption of foods that are rich in calories and sugar. However, you don’t have to completely restrain yourself from eating such foods and enjoying the occasion. You just have to make sure that you are able to control yourself and not indulge too much.
If you want to have a healthy holiday eating, here are some tips for you.
Never go hungry if you are going to attend a party. When you are hungry, you are more likely to eat more than you should. As much as possible, try to eat light snacks to keep you full before attending a party.
Choose foods that are rich in fiber. Choose foods that are rich in fiber to keep you full immediately.
Get small portions of foods. If you are in a buffet, as much as possible, get smaller portions rather than big portions. Choose only the foods that you want to eat and get smaller portions.
Eat slower. As much as possible, eat slowly and chew your food well. If you eat fast, it will be difficult for your brain to register if you are already full.
Stay physically active. Even if it is the holidays, it is not a reason for you to be sedentary. Stay physically active so that you body continues to burn fats.
