Exercise Reduces the Incidence of Acid Reflux

For those who are suffering from chronic heartburn, most of them are avoiding exercise because they believe that it can trigger the heartburn. However, avoiding exercise in order to prevent the symptoms of heartburn would probably not be the best solution.

Apparently, exercising is not only good for the cardiovascular health but it can also help in weight loss. People who are overweight are at greater risk for developing acid reflux disease and losing weight can help in decreasing the risk for acid reflux. For you to be able to lose weight effectively, exercising would be the best solution.

For those who are already suffering from acid reflux, there are some ways on how to prevent the symptoms. One must exercise on an empty stomach. You should not eat two hours before exercising in order to prevent the incidence of acid reflux. Rather than drinking sports drinks for hydration, it would be best to drink water.

Aside from that, it is also important to choose your exercises well. Avoid agitating exercises such as running because it can only induce the symptoms of acid reflux. Stationary exercises such as biking would be a good exercise to lose weight while also avoiding acid reflux.
