* Taking Adipex-P for a very long time can cause dependency on the drug, as it is chemically similar to amphetamines, which are often abused. There are specific rules for prescribing and dispensing the drug Adipex-P.
* Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your insulin dosage if you have diabetes and are taking insulin, because Adipex-P controls the appetite.
* Adipex-P can interact with many different medications which may cause health problems.

* Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor or MAOI within the past fourteen days. Monoamine oxidase inhibitor contains the following:

o Tranylcypromine or Parnate
o Isocarboxazid or Marplan
o Selegiline or Eldepryl, Emsam, or Zelapar
o Phenelzine or Nardil
* You are allergic to Adipex-P or any inactive components used to make this medication.
* You are severely nervous or agitated.
* You have moderate to severe high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.
* You have a history of drug abuse.
* You have glaucoma, which is a condition of the eyes.
Adipex-P should not be taken under various circumstances and the warnings and precautions should be followed before taking this medication.
