What is 1,3-Dimethylpentylamine Hydrochloride?
Dimethylpentylamine is produced by the geranium flowers. It is not an artificially produced chemical as thought of by many people. The flowers are turned into an oil based compound and some parts of that compound are what are today known as Dimethylpentylamine . That is the name it goes by and is not known to be created by artificial means. Therefore it is wrong to conceive this product as artificial.
Initially the substance was known by a very descriptive name. It was called Geranamine, after the geranium plant it came from, but later since it had to have a name describing its chemical composition it was renamed Dimethylpentylamine to conform to IUPAC guidelines. Both names however can be used to describe the substance. A number of things get their names changed, as it is not uncommon for IUPAC
Nutrition and Decongestion
Dimethylpentylamine was first used as a nutritional supplement and a decongestant, after extensive research in the 1940’s and 1950’s. A patent for the product was applied for and received, to use the product as a nutritional substance. Since then the substance Dimethylpentylamine has been extensively used in nutritional products in a variety of ways. For example, Phentramin-D uses Dimethylpentylamine to stimulate wieght loss. Dimethylpentylamine is also known to be used as a nasal decongestant. The product has done quiet well in all of its different uses and is quite popular.
